Lata Mangeshkar unable to attend music festival

Lata has expressed her inability to attend a music festival for which she was personally invited by Mamata Banerjee.

Kolkata: Melody queen Lata Mangeshkar has expressed her inability to attend a music festival for which she was personally invited by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee because of family preoccupations.

The Chief Minister had a long talk with Lata yesterday during which she made the invitation to attend the `Gaan Mela` on April 12, secretariat sources said today. Though Lata accepted the invitation, she expressed her inability to attend because of family preoccupations but assured the the chief minister that she would make a visit in future. PTI
