New Delhi: The Delhi High Court Wednesday asked private TV channel UTV Bindass to present before it unedited recordings of two recent episodes of its reality show `Emotional Atyachar` over a petition alleging that the programme was obscene.
The court also directed the central government to place on record the censorship guidelines for programmes.
The division bench of Chief Justice Dipak Misra and Justice Sanjiv Khanna directed the TV channel to submit CDs of unedited recordings of two recent episodes of the show by July 20. Chief Justice Misra said that the bench would view the recordings and accordingly pass the order. Filing a public interest litigation, NGO Indraprastha People, through its president Sanjay Tiwari Ujala, said: "Through this programme, the TV channel has been hurting the feelings of viewers, spreading vulgarity and demoting social and moral values in our society."
