Noel Gallagher blames bro Liam for Oasis’ split

London: Noel Gallagher has fanned the feud with his brother singer Liam by blaming him for killing their band Oasis’ chances of cracking America.
The Oasis songwriter has held the singer’s decision to quit their first US tour in 1994, responsible for wrecking the group’s chances. “As I’m getting on the plane he’s getting off because his wife called, saying: ‘We need to buy a house’,” the Daily Star quoted him as telling The New York Times. “What they were doing for the previous three months is anybody’s guess. “Probably picking gnats out of each other’s hair like monkeys. “The first gig was a 16,000-seat arena, and the singer’s not turned up. “That killed us stone dead in America,” he said. The obstinate singer, Liam had apparently ditched his band mates for then wife Patsy Kensit. “This is rock ‘n’ roll. Would Johnny Rotten have gotten a house on the eve of an American tour? Keith Richards? John Lennon? “You either want it or you don’t, and I blame him for us never becoming as big in America as we were in England.” The latest accusations could lead the siblings into a bitter court battle, with Noel even claiming that Liam tried to attack him with guitar. The fuming 44-year-old has accused Liam of leaving abusive voicemail messages on his wife’s answer phone and of disrupting gigs by hitting the bottle. Noel has also bitterly criticised his brother’s decision of setting up a new band ‘ Beady Eye’ with his former Oasis band mates just hours after the group split in 2009. “Liam being Liam bullied them into starting a band that night,” he said. “It’s like Lyndon Johnson being sworn in on the airplane on the way back from Dallas before the body is even cold,” he added.
