Now, Rahman’s son Alim croons for a Hollywood flick

Like father, Rahman’s six year old kid Alim wants to pursue music and aspires to become a playback singer.

Mumbai: Ever since the mellifluous music of ‘Roja’ hit the Indian theatres, AR Rahman was touted as one of the most promising music directors of India. Well, the Rahman mania was not just one flick wonder as the Mozart of Madras churned hits after hits in a row and took the Bollywood music industry by a storm! With twin Oscars under his belt, Rahman proved his mettle in the world music and has opened the floodgates of international projects to India. But in case you believe Rahman to be only prodigiously gifted musician in his family, check out his son Alim! News has it that Rahman’s six year old kid Alim has crooned for a Hollywood flick ‘Couples Retreat.’ Like father, the son wants to pursue music and aspires to become a playback singer. The song sung by Alim is composed by music maestro Rahman. According to a close source, “AR Rahman’s family and people in his office have still not got over the fact that Rahman’s little son has sung the song. They are very excited and happy and can’t stop talking about it. His mom and dad are very proud of him.” Directed by Peter Billingsley, ‘Couples Retreat’ is a light romcom which stars Hollywood biggies such as Kristen Bell, Vince Vaughn and Jason Bateman in main roles. Keeping in mind the mood of the movie, Rahman has come out with a melodious and soothingly light composition. ‘Couples Retreat’ is expected to release at the end of year 2009.
