Janet Dacal to star as Alice on B’way

Dacal will star in a new B`way-bound musical inspired by ‘Alice in Wonderland.’

New York: Janet Dacal will star in a new Broadway-bound musical inspired by ‘Alice in Wonderland.’

Dacal, whose previous Broadway credits include ‘In The Heights’ and ‘Good Vibrations,’ has been cast as Alice in ‘Wonderland — A New Alice. A New Musical.’ She`ll perform the title role both in Tampa, Fla., in January and when the show makes its debut on Broadway on April 17. Frank Wildhorn, who created ‘Jekyll and Hyde,’ provides the music. Gregory Boyd directs and co-wrote the story with Jack Murphy. It`s about a modern-day woman who goes on an adventure far below the streets of New York City, where she encounters characters from the classic tale. The show also stars such Broadway veterans as Darren Ritchie of ‘Little Shop of Horrors,’ Titus Burgess of ‘Jersey Boys’ and Karen Mason of ‘Hairspray.’ Bureau Report
