Mumbai: After tasting success with his first film ‘Jaane Tu…Ya Jaane Na,’ filmmaker Abbas Tyrewala faced heat as his second venture starring John Abraham bombed pretty badly at the Box Office.
But, latest news has it that talented Abbas is back with a new script and sources confirm that he has his eyes set on Saif Ali Khan for the male lead for his next film.
Talking about casting Saif in his upcoming project, Abbas said, “We are just discussing one of the various ideas I have. There are no commitments or firm plans yet.”
Talking to daily, a source said, “Abbas had come to meet Saif when he was shooting in Hyderabad last month. Abbas narrated the script and Saif seemed pretty happy with it.
It’s learnt that later when Saif returned to Mumbai, Abbas met him again. However, the director is still to declare the project till both the actor and the director finalise the script. It has emerged that Saif may also produce the film.
Confirming that he had met Saif in Hyderabad, Abbas said, “I am just talking to him the same way I have been talking to other actors. This is just to see whether we can collaborate. And as far as going to Hyderabad for the script narration is concerned, this is what filmmakers do between projects."
