New Delhi: Making an entry into Bollywood with film `Sadiyaan`, Luv Sinha, son of actor-politician Shatrughan Sinha today said he does not wish to be a "photocopy" of his father on the silver screen.
"I am inspired by him...he is a great actor... but I do not want to be known as his photocopy. What is the need of the photocopy when original is already there," Luv told reporters.
The debutante`s film also featuring legendary actors
like Hema Malini, Rekha and Rishi Kapoor will be released in
theatres on April 2.
The movie made by noted filmmaker Raj Kanwar based on positive side of Indo-Pakistan relationship also stars Pakistani actor Javed Sheikh while music has been composed by Adnan Shami.
Asked if being son of Shatrughan Sinha guarantees success, the 26-year-old debutante said, "there is no no golden ticket to success in Bollywood. One has to work hard to win love of people."
"I know being son of Shatrughan Sinha will generate load of expectations from me and I am prepared for the challenge," he added.
"Like any other newcomer initially I was nervous but Hema ji and Rekha ji provided me great support and after that everything went right," he said.
Hema Malini and Rekha are playing roles of two mothers of Luv Sinha in the movie.
"Apart from being reel life mother the two acted like real life mother to me on the sets," he added.
Unlike his father, who acted mostly in action movies, Luv said he is starting his career with an emotional drama but "I am open to action movies in future".
"I do not wish to be typecast in a particular role. I am open to romantic movie as well action one...depending upon the role I get," Luv said.
Asked if he was prepared to compete with romantic heroes like Ranbir Kapoor, the actor said, "I wish to compete only with myself."
Luv also said that he would love to do a movie with his twin brother Kuush Sinha and father if there is a good script.
The father-son duo completed a hectic round of promotional shows of the movie across the country with a function at Chandigarh last night.
