Lady Gaga beats Spears to top spot on Twitter

Los Angeles: Pop star Britney Spears is no more the Twitter queen. Her fellow singer Lady Gaga now rules the microblogging site with the maximum number of fans.

Nearly three-months after Spears usurped the most-followed Twitter user crown from Ashton Kutcher, the pop singer lost the title to Lady Gaga. On Saturday, Gaga surged into the lead, netting 5,694,147 followers to Britney`s 5,685,390 -- a difference of nearly 9,000 users, reports a news website. Lady Gaga broke from her usual `Poker Face` after learning the news, posting a Twitpic of herself with the rock band Kiss, and Tweeting, `Kiss the Queen`. IANS
