London, June 25: The Queen`s Guard has signed a million pound deal with Universal, joining the ranks of artistes like Amy Winehouse and Eminem who are a part of the music label.
The Regimental Band of the Coldstream Guards, Britain`s longest-serving military band which includes soldiers who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan signed a deal with Universal`s subsidiary label, Decca reported Daily Mail online.
The band will now release an album called `Heroes`, which will include music from `Where Eagles Dare` and `The Dam Busters`.
"Our music has the power to move and inspire people in a very positive way. We`re delighted the Coldstream Guards, through Decca, will be able to reach out and share this with a much wider public," said the Guards` director of music, Graham Jones.
The band will now be managed by Daniel Glatman, the ex-manager of boy band Blue who believers that they are sure to be a hit.
"Their record is going to be huge. Their sound is epic, impassioned and emotional," said Glatman.
But the members of the band don`t consider themselves rock stars in the making.
"I don`t think we would consider ourselves as rock stars. We are professional musicians in the army," said Sergeant Dave Desmond.
