Jazz pianist Hank Jones dies aged 91

US jazz pianist Hank Jones has passed away at the age of 91.

London: US jazz pianist Hank Jones, who was Marilyn Monroe`s accompanist when she sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to President John F Kennedy, has passed away at the age of 91. The musician, who was honoured with a lifetime achievement award at the Grammys last year, was singer Ella Fitzgerald`s piano player from 1948-53, reports the BBC.
Jones, whose career spanned 70 years, was also named pianist of the year at the Jazz Awards in 2009. He was also awarded with the National Medal of Arts the previous in 2008. ANI
