Bob Marley’s family sue singer’s half brother for cashing in on his name

A lawsuit has been filed by Bob Marley’s widow Rita and their children against the reggae legend’s half brother.

Washington: A lawsuit has been filed by Bob Marley’s widow Rita and their children against the reggae legend’s half brother to prevent him from using the singer’s name without permission.
The Marleys claim that Richard Booker has been using his connection to the late singer to promote concerts in Miami, Florida and all manner of fish produce under his Mama Marley banner. According to Tmz.com, Rita and the kids are suing Booker for trademark infringement and unauthorised use of Marley’s likeness. They are demanding his share of profits from Marley-related products, Contactmusic reported. Ironically, plaintiffs Stephen, Damian and Julian Marley are among the headliners at Booker’s 9 Mile Music Festival in 2012. ANI
