I have no issues with Big B: Shatrughan Sinha

New Delhi: Their war of words had made headlines but actor-turned-politician Shatrughan Sinha is ready to put his differences with Amitabh Bachchan behind to work with his old co-star again. The two actors worked together in yesteryear`s hits like `Kala Pathar`, `Dostana` and `Shaan` but they have not been on cordial terms in recent years.
When asked whether Sinha would consider working with Bachchan again, the actor said,"I have never said no to working with him (Amitabh). I have no issues. It is up to
him," Sinha said. "I think I have enough of self-confidence and comfort level to keep away personal things in my professional life. However, there is nothing personal between us. I think he does not want to work with me because you (media) have praised me a lot," said Sinha, taking a potshot at Bachchan. The veteran actor was in the city to promote his son Luv`s debut film `Sadiyaan`, which also stars Rekha and Hema Malini. Sinha had openly taken a dig at the Bachchan family in 2008 after the nominations for the IIFA awards were announced, saying, "Sab kissika beta hai, ya kissiki bahu, ya kissiki biwi (Everyone is either someone`s son, someone`s daughter-in-law or someone`s wife)." Bachchan who is the brand ambassador of the awards, reacted sharply to the comments blaming Sinha for interfering in the National award selection. Sinha, a BJP MP from Patna, is more active in politics these days, but hoped that his 26-year-old son will continue his acting legacy. "We were planning to launch Luv but before that he got noticed by Raj Kanwarji (director) and I am happy that he got his first movie on his own. He has given a good performance in the movie and I hope that my legacy will continue," said Sinha, adding that the film was a story about relationships and love. The veteran actor, known for his baritone and impressive dialogue delivery, said that he will support his son upto a point and then let him face the challenges in life. However, he will continue helping him as a "friend, philosopher and guide". "I have told him to be better than others and if he can not do that he has to be different. I can`t accompany him everywhere. When I started my journey in films, I was not sure that my scarred face will be accepted but then I decided to be myself and I have kept that promise. Good, bad, ugly, whatever I am I am," said Sinha. Rishi Kapoor is playing Luv`s father in the movie. When asked why Sinha is not part of the movie, the actor said he did not want to pile on his son. "Rishi is ideal for the role. I would not have been fit for it. Moreover, I did not want to be a stress factor for Luv. I wanted him to work with a free mind," he added. PTI
