The stars were given the honour by Queen Elizabeth II.

London: Status Quo rockers Rick Parfitt and Francis Rossi have been awarded Order of the British Empire (OBE) medals. The stars were given the honour by Queen Elizabeth II during a ceremony at London’s Buckingham Palace.
Parfitt and Rossi are both stunned by the prestigious accolades, branding the honour the ‘most exceptional moment’ of their careers. "This is the most exceptional moment of our careers - there’s no two ways about it. This is the most formal occasion I’ve come to in my life. It’s one thing going out to play for 50,000 people. It’s another thing talking one-to-one with the Queen - so nerve-wracking," the Daily Express quoted Rossi, 60, as saying. Parfitt, 61, added: "It’s wonderful that we have been recognised for what we’ve done. We never would have expected this when we started out 40-odd years ago. Never in a million years do you dream you’re going to become Officers of the British Empire and meet the Queen, it’s almost unreal. It hasn``t quite sunk in yet, we’re incredibly honoured." ANI
