Hyderabad: Zambia, Mozambique and Ehiopia in Africa are an attractive investment destination for Indian businessmen as they offer advantages like business-friendly policies and good climatic conditions, officials of the three countries said here Thursday.
Speaking at a session organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on 'Doing Business with African Countries', officials of diplomatic missions from the three African nations showcased their countries as good destinations for doing business, espcially in agri-related sectors.
Highlighting that Zambia is a stable country endowed with abundant natural resources, Susan Sikaneta, High Commissioner of the Republic of Zambia, said her government has policies and procedures which are aimed at promoting investments and business.
Appreciating the expertise and knowledge of Indian businessmen in the agri and allied sectors, she said there are plenty of opportunities in her country for doing business in areas like poulty, cotton, among others.
Jerusalem Amdemariam, Minister Counsellor - Economic and Business, Embassy of Ethiopia, said agriculture and manufacturing are potential areas of investment in her country.
Various incentives and protection are given for the investors, she said.
Maria Fatima G C Phume, Deputy High Commissioner, Mozambique High Commission, said her country has a strategic plan for agri development.
Suresh Chitturi, Chairman, CII- AP Task Force on agriculture, indicated that there are plans for a small delegation of entrepreneurs to visit the African countries in September this year.
