Lady Gaga`s `Digital Life Sacrifice` not raising money

The `Digital Life Sacrifice` campaign is struggling to raise money.

New York: It was a stunt that grabbed headlines. Stars like Lady Gaga, Kim Kardashian and Justin Timberlake gave up social networking until their fans raised USD 1 million for charity. But the `Digital Life Sacrifice` campaign is struggling to raise money.
The star-studded charity effort for singer Alicia Keys` Keep a Child Alive foundation, has gained only around USD 181,000 in it`s first week, reported a daily. When this fund-raising effort was first announced, people behind the cause were confident that it would reach it`s goal a in short time since Gaga alone has more than 7.2 million followers on Twitter. On December 3, the singer reminded her fans, whom she calls Little Monsters, that she needs help to be back on the digital world, tweeting, "Lady GaGa is still dead. Text GAGA to 90999 and donate USD 10 to help children fighting HIV/AIDS." According to the newspaper, the campaign has two fundamental problems. First, the amount of donation, USD 10 minimum, is too high. The second problem is by withdrawing from any online activities, they have lost an enormous amount of social media marketing. Keys leads such celebrities as Kim Kardashian, Justin Timberlake, Usher, Ryan Seacrest and Jennifer Hudson to sacrifice their digital life starting December 1 on World AIDS Day. Fans are asked to buy their life back by visiting BuyLife.org or texting a celeb`s name to 90999. All proceeds will benefit effort to fight HIV/AIDS in Africa and India and help the victims in those countries. And when USD 1,000,000 is reached, everyone will be back online and tweeting in no time. PTI
