‘Rock On’ sequel to rock the audience once again!

Mumbai: Who can forget the four rockers, who set the silver screen on fire with their mind-blowing performance in the cult-film ‘Rock On!!’. Well, the good news is that ‘Rock On!!’ fans will get to see more of the band as a sequel is on the anvil! According to sources, the two leading actors of the film - Farhan Akhtar and Arjun Rampal, were ready to start a sequel right after the film released in 2008 but the director Abhishek Kapoor had his reservations. But, after the National award for Best Hindi film, the ‘Rock On!!’ team is in high spirits and feels that it’s time to go for a sequel. Abhishek Kapoor said to a news daily, “I didn’t want to rush into a sequel just because it was a commercially viable thing to do. The sequel had to stand on its own feet and not just be a carryover of the original. I now have a couple of ideas, which I am working on.” The director is currently working on the adaptation of author Chetan Bhagat’s latest novel, ‘The 3 Mistakes Of My Life’ as well as on another original screenplay. “I’ve brought Chetan Bhagat on board for the screen adaptation. We are retaining about 40 percent of the novel. I’m also doing a film called ‘Sid’ written by Ashok Banker. It’ll be in English for the international market.” On being asked about the sequel to’ Rock On!’, Farhan said - “I’m all for it.”
