Mumbai: The buzz about actress Priyanka Chopra’s ouster from Abbas Mastan’s ‘Italian Job’ has been strongly refuted by the filmmaker. Clarifying the supposed fiasco over the star-cast of his much-awaited flick, Abbas claimed that Priyanka was never approached for the project, so there can’t be a question of her losing out on the same. Talking to Spicezee.com, Abbas clarified, “The star cast of ‘Italian Job’ was finalised long time back– we had signed Abhishek Bachchan, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Katrina Kaif in the first go and Katrina was always our first choice so there was no question of talking to Priyanka Chopra. She was never approached or spoken to for this role so how can Priyanka lose out on a role she was never even considered for?” Situation got all the more worse for the filmmaker duo when Abhishek Bachchan was being held responsible for Priyanka’s loss, something which never ever happened in the first place! According to a close source to Bachchan, the actor had nothing to do with her not being in the film. On the other hand, Priyanka’s manager has also said, “Nothing was ever finalised with regards to ‘The Italian Job.’ She has only signed Vishal Bhardwaj’s film at the moment. As for Abbas’ film, Priyanka has not even heard the script, so how can she opt out of the film?” The Grapevine of Tinsel Town- you never really know whom to trust and when!
