Tim Burton set to make ‘Addams Family’ in 3D?

London: American filmmaker Tim Burton is reportedly planning to make an animated 3-D version of popular fictional cartoon characters `The Addams Family`.The 52-year-old director has wowed audiences with his 3-D version of Lewis Carroll`s classic `Alice In Wonderland`, which has pulled in 130.4 million pounds during its two-week run at the box office, Contactmusic reported.

Now, he is planning to use the technique to resurrect the spooky Addams Family, who were last seen in theatres back in the 1993 film `Addams Family Values`. Illumination Entertainment has acquired the rights to the original cartoons by Charles Addams, and the company`s boss Chris Meledandri will act as producer. It seems that James Cameron`s 3D sci-fi epic `Avatar` has inspired a number of other filmmakers to adopt the popular technique with George Lucas planning to revive his `Star Wars` films in 3D, while studio bosses at Warner Bros have confirmed the technology will be implemented for the final installments of the Harry Potter franchise.
