1 in 3 bosses think women wear too much make-up to work

London: More than a third of bosses think some of their female colleagues wear too much make-up to work, a new poll has found.
Having bright red lips, over made-up eyes and too much blusher, were polled as the most unpleasant look, according to the survey done by officerbroker.com. Striking lipstick topped the most unappealing look, with 32 per cent of managers questioned saying they found strong colours too much for the office. Over made-up eyes polled 28 per cent of the vote, while 15 per cent said too much blusher was a turn off. However, more than one in 10 bosses said they liked women to wear some make-up to work. Nearly everyone said that they believed wearing just a modest amount of make-up was suitable, the poll of 500 male and female bosses found. “Most of us try to look our best at work but sometimes people may go over the top to impress,” the Daily Mail quoted an officerbroker.com spokesman as saying. “As the saying goes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and what one person likes, another may well hate but the common theme was that less really was more when it came to professional appearance. “The bosses we spoke to had no problem with people making an effort to look good in the office, but sometimes had an issue with the quantity of make-up used,” he added.
