Lifetime texting `can fetch you a luxury car`

London: You may think that your texting habit is a cheap one, but a new research has revealed that the cost of mobile messages you send in your lifetime could fetch you a sports car or a luxury round-the-world trip.According to researchers, cellphone users can expect to pay 28,200 pounds for the thousands of texts they will send in their lifetime.

The study, based on a poll of 2,038 mobile phone users, has revealed that in an average month they sent around 500 texts and spent 600 minutes talking on the phone. Seven out of 10 respondents felt they spent more time texting and calling friends than spending time with them, while 41 per cent felt the same when it came to a partner or love interest, the poll found. Neil McHugh, co-founder of comparison site `rightmobilephone. co.uk` was quoted by the `Daily Express` as saying, "Our latest study really highlights how much time and money we spend communicating. "I`m sure it will surprise people and I`m sure most would rather be spending eight months of their lifetime doing something a little more exciting." PTI
