Bell to star as Aguilera`s rival in `Burlesque`

London: Actress Kristen Bell is all set to play singer Christina Aguilera`s rival in the musical drama `Burlesque.`The film is about an ambitious small town girl with a strong voice who does well on a Los Angeles neo-burlesque club, reminiscent of the nightclub in Bob Fosse`s "Cabaret", hollywoodreporter.com reports.

Bell will play Nikki, who is a dancer and main attraction at the club and goes out of control when Aguilera`s character suddenly steals her spotlight. Singer Cher will seen as the nightclub owner, while Stanley Tucci plays the man who helps Aguilera transform from a simpleton to a looker. Shooting will begin Nov 9 and a release date is planned for 2010 Thanksgiving. IANS
