Kolkata: Activists in Kolkata organised a puppet show for special children with an aim of bringing a smile on their faces.
The show was organised particularly for street children, specially-abled children and for the kids of sex workers, their caretakers and teachers.

"The purpose (of the puppet show) is that this (special children) is one of our target audiences, many schools and NGOs have given us venues to perform and we want to reach out to the children and their caregivers to show them that how we can touch their hearts through entertainment and participative entertainment and not just entertainment.
Today`s programme is going to be very participative, the children are going to be a part of the programme and the people who are performing, the artists who are performing are also going to be a part of the audience and most of them are traditional puppeteers from the districts of West Bengal," said Mcbean.
She added that puppetry is a therapeutic medium in which the images attracts attention and transposes entire thought process.
The show, which was an amalgamation of songs, dance and dialogues along with the puppet show aimed to motivate the children to remain happy life and fight bravely the odds of life.
A lot of children from different backgrounds attended the show.
