Hollywood veteran Michael Douglas says he initially had doubts about having young actor Shia LaBeouf in the sequel to the `Wall Street`.

London: Hollywood veteran Michael Douglas says he initially had doubts about having young actor Shia LaBeouf in the sequel to the `Wall Street`. Douglas, who won an Oscar for his role as Gordon Gekko in the 1987 film, said he did not believe that La Beouf "had the chops" to match Charlie Sheen, the Daily Express reported.
The 65-year-old star said, "Shia, honestly, we were all not sure about whether he had the chops. As you remember from the first, Charlie Sheen carried the movie, Gordon Gekko had very colourful parts but it was not every scene." But Michael said his 23-year-old, who is currently dating Oscar-nominee Carey Mulligan, nailed it. "He knocked it out of the park. I`m so proud of him," said Douglas, who has reprised his role of Gekko in the sequel. PTI
