Mumbai: Believe it or not but Bollywood’s versatile actor Farhan Akhtar recently got a license before he shot a bike scene for his forthcoming flick ‘Karthik Calling Karthik.’
In the film Farhan’s character transforms from a loser to cool guy and as driving a bike added to the cool quotient of the character, the scene was very important for the film.
Incidentally, Farhan didn’t know how to ride a bike and in order to prepare for the role, the versatile actor learned to ride a bike and like every good responsible citizen, got a license. The scene was shot after a month only when Farhan was confident of his driving skills.
Talking to a newspaper, a source said, “In the film, Farhan plays a loser who undergoes a change. To show this transformation, there is a sequence where he takes Deepika out on a bike. The major problem was that Farhan didn’t know how to ride the bike and he didn’t have a licence either.”
Talking to the news daily, Ritesh Sidhwani, the producer of the movie said, “The film is about Farhan going from sober to cool. It was important that he looked confident as it worked as a style statement. We did not use a car because a bike would bring out his confident side as this is his first date in the film. So, we gifted him a brand new bike and he took a learners’ licence from the Andheri RTO. After that, for a month at nights, whenever he was free, he would practise riding a bike. Eventually, he gained confidence. After that, he went back to the RTO and got a permanent licence. It took us a month to shoot the scene but we wanted to get it right.”
