London: A computer engineer, who is a social worker and a would-be video game designer, is one of the jurors, who be will hearing the patent dispute case between tech giants Apple and Samsung on Wednesday.

The seven men and three women who will form the jury to decide on the case, include a computer engineer, a mechanical engineer, a social worker and an unemployed person who hopes to become a video games developer.

According to The Telegraph, jurors will be expected to decide whether Samsung "slavishly" copied Apple's designs, as the iPhone-maker claims, and whether Apple unlawfully used 3G technologies patented by Samsung.

In the lawsuit filed by Apple, the firm is seeking USD 2.5 billion in lost profits and royalty fees from Samsung, accusing the firm for copying its iPhone and iPad designs.

However, Samsung reportedly responded with its own filing, alleging that Apple was trying "to stifle legitimate competition and limit consumer choice to maintain its historically exorbitant profits".

Apple also released documents, including communications from Google to Samsung saying that the Korean firm's tablets looked "too similar" to the iPad, the paper said.

Samsung is expected to suggest that the basic hardware and software features of competing smartphones and tablet computers mean that a degree of similarity in design is inevitable, it added.
