Michael Jackson dolls to go on sale in UK

Melbourne: Late King of Pop Michael Jackson’s dolls are set to go on sale in UK later this year.

The dolls are likely to show the ‘Thriller’ hitmaker, who died of drug overdose last year in June, in four iconic poses. However, UK distributors, Character Options, did not specify which of the legendary Jacko outfits the dolls would don. The first two figures, produced by Playmates Toys, are expected to be launched in August, with a further two designs on sale before Christmas 2010. "Michael Jackson is a global icon that leaves a legacy in music, dance and fashion that remains unrivalled,” News.com.au quoted Lou Novak, president of Playmates as saying. "We will honour his talent and his art expression by delivering a spectacular, highly detailed product line to inspire fans, collectors and new found enthusiasts," Novak added. The toy makers said the dolls, billed as official Michael Jackson memorabilia, would be displayed in commemorative packaging. ANI
