Elizabeth portrait auctioned for 10 million

A portait of Elizabeth Taylor fetched a whopping USD 10 million at an auction.

London: A never-seen-before portrait of Hollywood icon Elizabeth Taylor by artiste Andy Warhol has fetched a whopping USD 10 million at an auction.

The piece titled titled Silver Liz, was painted in 1963 and has been kept hidden away in a private collection for the last 20 years, reported Contactmusic. Warhol`s work went under the hammer at Christie`s auction house in London on Wednesday as part of the Post-War and Contemporary Art Evening Auction. The painting was sold to an anonymous bidder for USD 10,141,875. PTI
