Mumbai: It is a matter of great pride and honour for any director to see his film being nominated in the Oscars. And to win the coveted trophy is a dream come true. But ironically the makers of the satirical comedy ‘Peepli Live’ are glad about the fact that their film, though was up for the Oscar nominations could not make it to the final list. Expressing his take on the film failing to make it to the winners’ list, Mahmood Farooqui, the co-director of ‘Peepli Live’ and husband of debutant filmmaker Anusha Rizvi said, “It`s okay, good actually, that the movie is out of the Oscars, else the pressure and expectations would`ve doubled." Farooqui and his wife, who had disassociated themselves from the film produced by Aamir Khan seemed indifferent about the film’s performance at the Academy Awards. According to them, the ‘Peepli Live’ was a film meant for the Indian audiences. However, the husband-wife duo was very happy to have received appreciation for their work from the critics, authors and the masses. Post the success of the art film, Farooqui said that he would like to try his hands at an out and out commercial masala flick like ‘Dabangg’.
