Momsen a huge fan of Gothic Rock

Momsen does not try to get influenced by other singers musical styles.

London: ‘Gossip Girl’ star Taylor Momsen is a huge fan of gothic rock music and claims that she does not try to get influenced by other singers musical styles and genres.

The 17-year-old singer/actress hates adopting other artists` musical styles and insists that the music featuring on her band Pretty Reckless` new album `Light Me Up` comes from her own ideas, experiences and inspiration, Contactmusic reported. "Musically, I grew up among a lot of gothic rock but I don`t like to take on the style of other artists too much, that`s not the point of it. You know, the record is very much written about my life and what I know, what I feel, what I`ve experienced and all that stuff. It`s a very honest record, I guess," Momsen said. The star is looking forward to going on the road with her band and has warned her fans to be ready for a surge in volume. "Hopefully we`ll have a lot of fun, it`s all about us and the fans having a good time. We`re going to rock it out! We`re going to have a couple of upcoming and local bands supporting us which is really important to us. In terms of The Pretty Reckless though fans should prepare themselves for it to be loud," she added. `Light Me Up` is now available in the UK and will be out on sale in the US from February 7 this year. The band is also planning to embark on a US tour in support of the record from 11 February. PTI
