Subodh Bhargava ceases to be Tata Communications Chairman after 15-year stint

Tata Communications Chairman Subodh Bhargava has stepped down as his term as independent director comes to an end Thursday.

New Delhi: Tata Communications Chairman Subodh Bhargava has stepped down as his term as independent director comes to an end Thursday.

"Subodh Bhargava, independent director ceases to be the Chairman of the company with effect from March 30, 2017 as his term as independent director comes to an end after serving the company on its board since May 2002," Tata Communications said in a regulatory filing.

Before joining Tata Communications, Bhargava has been the Group Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Eicher Group of Companies.

"Bhargava's counsel and leadership has been invaluable to the growth and development of the company," the filings said.
