TEAM CHANGES: RPS remain unchanged while Maxwell has two changes for his team. Eoin Morgan replaces Matt Henry and Swapnil Singh comes in for Manan Vohra
TOSS TIME: RPS win the toss and elect to bowl
RPS currently have 16 points from 13 matches with a net run-rate of -0.083. Kings XI Punjab, on the other hand, have 14 points under their belt but have a better run rate +0.296. So even though Punjab will have 16 points even if they beat Pune, they will be through to the play-offs on basis of better run-rate.
Kings XI Punjab have peaked at the right time in the tournament and are currently on a two-match winning streak. Glenn Maxwell's men have raised their performance ever since they were put in a knockout scenario. KXIP have kept their play-off hopes alive with two consecutive wins over Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians. The fact that they have defeated two of the top teams in the tournament should instill a lot of confidence in Maxwell's men.
On paper, Supergiant are a better team, with players like skipper Steven Smith (405 runs), this year's biggest buy Ben Stokes (316 runs and 12 wickets) and former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni (240 runs), in their ranks. But it remains to be seen whether they can shatter Punjab's hopes of qualifying for the next stage.
