MUST WATCH: Not happy with 164-run knock, Steve Smith takes flying, one-handed miracle catch
First, Smith scored a brilliant 164-run knock off 157 balls, which also happened to be the joint highest score for any Aussie skipper, then produced a miracle catch.
New Delhi: Australia captain Steve Smith once again proved why is regarded as one of the best cricketers with a brilliant all-round against New Zealand in their first ODI match at Sydney.
First, he scored a brilliant 164-run knock off 157 balls, which also happened to be the joint highest score for any Aussie skipper, then produced a miracle catch.
After helping his team to a 324 total, the 27-year-old returned to take screamer of a catch which will put the likes of Jonty Rhodes and Ricky Ponting in the shadows.
The Kiwis kept themselves in the chase with Martin Guptill going strong, and were at 140/3 after 245.2 overs play in the second innings.
But BJ Watling played a ferocious cut shot off the third ball of the over, bowled by Mitchell Marsh. But Smith was there at backward point, and the Aussie skipper took wings to pluck an impossible catch.

It will certainly go down as one of the greatest catches ever taken, matching those miracle catches taken by the likes of Rhodes, Ponting and others.
