Ravichandran Ashwin makes repentant Brad Hodge looked silly for Virat Kohli comment; suggests March 30 to be remembered as world apology day

New Delhi: Ace Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin on Thursday produced probably the best tweet of the year, so far, by suggesting March 30 to be remembered as 'world apology day'.

Strangely, in the heart of the lies a repentant Brad Hodge, who earlier today tendered an apology to Virat Kohli and all Indians for his comments on the Indian captain.

Ashwin, regarded as one of the wittiest cricketers, didn't even mention the name of the former Aussie player while making a fun out him. He did started the tweet "on a lighter note", but the end result was devastating too say the least.

Within hours, it was liked by more than two thousand fans, and news sites news websites have already made a killing by making many variants of it, making many different interpretations.

For the record, Hodge had insinuated that Kohli pulled out of the fourth and final Test match of India-Australia series to save himself for the Indian Premier League (IPL), which starts next week. Hodge is the head coach of IPL franchise Gujarat Lions.

Kohli injured his right shoulder while diving to stop a boundary on Day 1 of the drawn third Test in Ranchi. He sat out the series finale in Dharamsala, which India won by eight wickets to regain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, with 2-1 win.

By the way, World Fraternity and Apology Day is celebrated on September 14 every year.
