New Delhi: Star batsman Rohit Sharma's selection for the New Zealand series was the biggest talking point after India's 15-man squad was announced last week.

Considering the stylish right-hander's below par performances in whites, several felt he didn't deserve to be among those selected.

With the experienced Gautam Gambhir in fine form, a section of fans strongly criticised Sharma's retention in the squad.

Even former skipper Sourav Ganguly told a TV channel that Cheteshwar Pujara was a much better Test batsman than Rohit. Dada went on to add that selectors will not spot any new quality of the Mumbai batsman considering it was a home series.

While the 29-year-old did not speak to the media, he did have reply for his detractors.

Taking to social micro-blogging site Twitter a day after the squad was announced, Sharma broke his silence with this classic one-liner.

Like Rohit, there is added pressure on Shikhar Dhawan as well to perform.

While Rohit is likley to find a place in the playing eleven, the Delhi left-hander could miss out as Virat Kohli is expected to opt in favour of Murali Vijay and KL Rahul to open in the Kanpur Test.
