New Delhi: Cricketing heroes Shane Warne, Michael Slater and Kevin Pietersen have been slapped with a fine of USD 300 each by the Tasmanian Police for not wearing seatbelts during a recent visit to Hobart.

The incident happened while Warne started a Facebook live session while the commentators were on their way back after day three of Australia’s Test match against South Africa at Bellerive Oval. Along with Warne and KP, other cricketers in the vehicle were Ian Healy and Mark Taylor.

While they were interacting with the fans in a four-minute video, they realised barring Taylor, who was driving and Healy, who was seated in the front, none of them had their seat belts fastened.

Even though they immediately put on the seatbelts, it was possibly a little late.

“The infringements for failing to wear a seatbelt were issued after police reviewed a video posted on one of the men’s Facebook page,” police said in a brief statement.

"Tasmania Police remind motorists that seatbelts save lives and urge drivers to insist their passengers buckle up too," police said.
