New Delhi: The explosive Sri Lankan opener batsman is due to play his last international at R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo.
In August 2016 Dilshan announced decision to retire from both ODI and T20I cricket at the end of the home series against Australia.
Dilshan has been one of the finest all-rounders that Sri Lanka has produced over a decade or so. Being the third overall and first Sri Lankan to score 1,500 runs in Twenty20 Internationals, he is also the first player to hit 200 fours in T20Is. Dilshan is also known for inventing the scoop, popularly termed as "Dilscoop".
Dilshan will finish his career second on the list of most T20 appearances (behind Shahid Afridi) and second on the list of most runs (behind Brendon McCullum).
The first match between Australia and Lanka at Pallekele was single-handedly won by Maxwell with his brutal 145 runs in 65 balls. Dilshan was unable to produce any magic with the bat later on in the 2nd innings, when he managed only 4 runs.
Sri Lanka eventually suffered a huge loss of 85 runs.
The 39-year-old would like to end his T20 career on a high note and play a winning knock for his team.
Australia are 1-0 up in the two match T20I series.
The second T20I between Sri Lanka and Australia will be played at the R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo.
