Yogeshwar Dutt makes Sachin Tendulkar 'proud' after refusing to accept upgraded medal

New Delhi: Yogeshwar Dutt on Wednesday was back in the headlines after he refused to accept his newly upgraded London 2012 medal.

Dutt was awarded a silver medal by the IOC after Russian wrestler Besik Kudukhov failed a dope test.

After confirming the same, Yogeshwar took to social micro-blogging site Twitter to inform his fans and followers that he in fact didn't want the new medal.

Yogi stated that he respected the deceased Kudukhov and the medal should be kept by his family.

The 33-year-old's special gesture was widely appreciated not just by his fans but also by a host of public personalities.

Among those bowled over by Yogi's gesture was master blaster Sachin Tendulkar. Sachin, who was a Goodwill Ambassador for India at Rio, hailed the Haryana wrestler for this act.

The IOC however is yet to comment any further on this development.
