Los Angeles: Singer Adam Levine is set to perform at the upcoming 87th Annual Academy Awards.

The Maroon 5 frontman will sing 'Lost Stars' from the soundtrack of Begin Again, which he also stars in, at the ceremony slated to take place on February 22 at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood, reported Ace Showbiz.

"Adam Levine is an exceptional and dynamic artist. We're thrilled to have him make his Oscars stage debut this year," Oscars producers Neil Meron and Craig Zadan said as they announced Levine's performance in a statement.

The coach of "The Voice" then shared his excitement on Twitter, writing, "So... I'll be singing at the #OSCARS!!! Whaaaat??!?!? Thank you @theAcademy! #LostStars."

'Lost Stars' was co-penned by Gregg Alexander and Danielle Brisebois. It is currently being nominated in the Best Original Song category alongside 'Glory' (Common and John Legend from 'Selma'), 'Grateful' (Rita Ora from 'Beyond the Lights'), 'Everything Is Awesome' (Tegan and Sara and The Lonely Island from 'The Lego Movie') and I'm Not Gonna Miss You (Glen Campbell and Julian Raymond from 'Glen Campbell: I'll Be Me').
