London: A rare photograph of The Beatles crossing Abbey Road in the opposite direction has sold for USD 25,000 at an auction.
The snap was taken by a photographer friend of John Lennon`s wife Yoko Ono.
The price reached almost double the expected worth after it went under the hammer at Bloomsbury Auctions here, reported Daily Mail online.
It was one of the six pictures taken during the 10-minute shoot that produced the iconic cover of the band`s 1969 album `Abbey Road`.
The rare photo shows the Fab Four walking the legendary London crossing from right to left - the opposite direction to the picture that appeared on the record cover.
