Biden makes a surprise stop at an Indian restaurant in Ohio

Washington: US Vice-President, Joe Biden, made a surprise stop at a popular Indian restaurant in the US, but failed to savour the flavours of the famous cuisine as the awestruck owner got carried away by his interest in Indian politics.

So excited was Raj Brar, owner of the ‘Flavors of India’ restaurant in Columbus, Ohio, that he forgot to offer his VVIP visitor the delicacies of his popular eatery. Biden spent some five-six minutes in his restaurant as he walked in to ask the owner where he was from. “Punjab," came the prompt reply and Biden surprised Brar by saying he had been to the state a number of times, which triggered an animated conversation on the politics of the state. Brar said the Vice President talked about the situation in the region and his affection for India and Indian Americans. "I said to him how everything has been having a tough time but we`re all getting through it," Brar said. "He himself said it`s a tough time, but that things were getting better," Brar said adding that they among other things discussed the economic situation. "It did not occur to me at all at that time," to offer him Indian delicacies, Brar said, lamenting at the lost opportunity. PTI
