London: Bill Cosby's effort to shut down a sexual-battery lawsuit has been recently denied by the California Court.

'The Cosby Show' star who has been alleged of sexual assault by dozens of women, on May 27 lost an appeal to have a lawsuit filed by Judy Huth dismissed, reported AOL.com.

The victim's attorney commenting on their small victory said that they are very happy about the Court of Appeal's decision that allows Huth's case to proceed rather than being dismissed.

Moreover, Huth has claimed to have suffered psychological damage and mental anguish as a result of the alleged incident.

Giving his statement on the incident, the 77-year-old comedian said that these brand new claims about alleged decades-old events are becoming increasingly ridiculous and is completely illogical.

Huth filed her suit against Cosby in 2014 claiming that Cosby committed sexual battery against her in 1974, when she was 15 years old.
