Hugh Grant goes back to college

London: `Notting Hill` star Hugh Grant decided to surprise his young fans at the Oxford University by paying a visit to his alma mater.

The 50-year-old star, who attended New College in the late 1970s, and left with an Upper Second in English, decided to refresh old memories by arranging for a formal dinner at
the weekend.

But he ended up at the college bar, where young graduates were celebrating the end of their exams much to the amusement of his young female fans, who flocked him, Daily
Mail reported.

The star offered to buy drinks for the entire crowd and handed his credit card to staff, only to be told that it was a cash-only bar. Finally he whipped out a 50 pound note, bought ten tickets to a local nightclub and handed them out.

One student told the university publication, Cherwell: "After dinner he headed off with staff for a private drink but he got bored and left. That`s when he came down to the bar. He was loving it."
