Los Angeles: Actress Katie Holmes thinks she is a "risk taker" like her vigilante elementary school teacher character in her latest movie "Miss Meadows".

The 35-year-old also says that she enjoys challenging herself with risky roles as she talked about her love for adventure, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

"I think as an artist, I am, absolutely. We are risk-takers and curious people and always interested in something we don't know about," she told Loaded magazine when asked if she is as adventurous as her character in the film.

Holmes, who was married to Tom Cruise for five years until 2012 and has eight-year-old daughter, Suri, with the actor, was full of praise for her 65-year-old co-star Meryl Streep. Streep plays Chief Elder in the film based on the novel of the same name by Lois Lowry.

"(Meryl is) kind and elegant and everything you would imagine and more," she said.
