Joan Rivers' apartment on sale for USD 28 million

New York: Comedienne Joan Rivers' New York house, where she lived 25 years until her death in September in last year, is on the market for USD 28 million.

Rivers died following a routine endoscopy. She was 81. The three-story palace at the 62nd St has giant rooms, frescoed ceilings, hand carved moldings ? and lots of dramatic red walls, antique carpets, double height ceilings and fancy gold details, reported the New York Post.

The four bedroom and bathroom apartment takes up 5000 square feet over three floors.

It includes a ballroom and an adjacent music room with 23 foot ceilings, gilded antique boisserie paneling, columns and five fireplaces. There is also a formal dining room and a spot for outdoor dining on one of the two 430 square feet terraces.'

The second floor has a mezzanine that overlooks the music room and the ballroom. It also boasts a gilded, plush master suite with a 430 square foot terrace and Central Park views.

The apartment also comes with staff quarters, natch, who come and go via their own separate staircase that leads to the kitchen.
