Jyoti Nooran of `Patakha Guddi`fame moves HC for protection from parents

New Delhi: Popular Sufi singer Jyoti Nooran (one of the two Nooran sisters, who rose to fame after the popular song `Patakha Guddi` from `Highway`), has been caught in a controversy over her age after she got married against her parents wishes.Reports suggest that both Jyoti and her parents are at logger-heads now regarding her age. While Jyoti says she is an adult, her parents continue to claim that she is a minor. Jyoti has now filed a petition in the Punjab and Haryana High Court, alleging that she faces threat from her parents. The daughter also accused her parents of faking her age so that they could extract money out of her. The court has now accepted the singer`s plea and has sent her and her husband Kunal Passi to a protection home. Apart from providing her protection, the court has ordered Jyoti to submit documents to prove her age.
