Kesha speaks up for seals

London: Pop star Kesha is urging people to "boycott Canadian seafood" to stop the slaughter of baby seals by fishermen. The `We R Who We R` singer has teamed up with Humane Society International to make a video revealing the plight of the marine mammals at the hands of Canadian fishermen and makes an emotional plea for people to do everything they can to end the slaughter, a website has reported.
"Every year thousands of baby seals are clubbed to death by Canadian fishermen. You can help by pledging to boycott Canadian seafood. Over the past six years people like you all over the world have signed on to that boycott.
"Together we can convince the Canadian government that`s it`s not in their best interest to continue to kill baby seals," she said. The 25-year-old`s message is accompanied by footage of fishermen killing a seal pup. PTI
