Mumbai: Demon king Ravana is worshipped in a few temples in India - Can you believe this? Yes, you heard it right. The King of Lanka, who was eliminated by Lord Rama, has a number of devotees to offer their prayers to him.

For those who may not be aware, Ravana was a staunch devotee Lord Shiva and he was a highly learned man. And hence, he is worshipped by certain sections of the Indian society.

This village in Madhya Pradesh worships an ancient 10-feet reclining idol of Ravana.

Dashanana Ravana temple in Uttar Pradesh

This temple believed to have been constructed by Raja Guri Prasad Shukl in 1890 opens its doors to the devotees annually during Dusshera.

Ravana Mandir in Rajasthan

The Maudgil Brahmans of Jodhpur are believed to be descendants of the demon king. The temple has been constructed recently.
