The real meaning and significance ‘Namaskar’ or ‘Namastey’

People from across the globe are familiar with the traditional Indian greeting style – Namaskar or Namastey. This gesture instantly reminds one of India when staying abroad. However, with each passing day, we are ignoring our own customs and practices in a bid to race with the globalised world.

Many Hindu practices and rituals have solid scientific reasoning. Namaskar or Namastey too has a profound meaning and is of great significance.

Namastey, helps us to control our ego and pride, as we acknowledge the presence of the creator in other beings. Thus, by bowing down with humility, we submit ourselves to the creator, who is responsible not just for our existence, but making both animate and the inanimate co-exist.
