According to LOVEFiLM, a British subsidiary of shopping website Amazon.com that provides home videos and video games through DVD by mail in Britain, Germany and Scandinavian countries, the percentage of people viewing romantic comedies has soared by 39 percent in the past week. "However, the rise in popularity of the rom-com titles available on our instant streaming service suggests that women are tackling the football frenzy and scoring themselves some light relief in the form of a good chick flick," she said.
