Dannii Minogue freaked out by her Madame Tussauds’ wax doll

Melbourne: Madame Tussauds has unveiled Dannii Minogue’s wax figure at the Sofitel before the museum’s first opening in Australia.
The Melbourne style icon said she was a bit freaked out coming so close to her mirror image. “It’s a bit crazy,” the Daily Telegraph quoted the singer-songwriter as saying. But there was no bump to be seen on the diminutive wax figure who adorns the same outfit Minogue wore when she famously announced her pregnancy with partner Kris Smith at the National Television Awards in the UK in 2010. Over 800 hours were spent by Madame Tussauds sculptors and artists to handcraft the figure. Hundreds of Minogue’s measurements were meticulously taken, including the width of her eyes, the length of her fingers and breadth of her face, with each individual hair inserted strand by strand. “I’m astonished by the accuracy, fine detail and remarkable likeness,” Minogue said at the Sofitel on Collins unveiling. “This is such an incredible experience for me as it was a moment in time that holds such special memories when Kris and I had just announced my pregnancy,” she said. The first Madame Tussauds in Australia, to open in Sydney in May, will feature over 70 figures, with roughly fifty per cent comprising the country’s homegrown legends. Minogue will be joining Nicole Kidman, Hugh Jackman, Ray Meagher and Amanda Keller as well as rubbing shoulders with the likes of Lady Gaga and Johnny Depp. ANI
